AMREF
AMREF is one of the largest NGOs based in Africa. The headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya and the organisation works across the continent to improve the lives of disadvantaged people through better health. Its extensive programmes bridge gaps between communities, health systems and governments, making AMREF a leader in the NGO community, developing and documenting best practices and training programmes; and, a leading force for advocacy for health system reforms in Africa.
Victor attended our Comprehensive Resource Mobilisation Programme run in Nairobi in 2018-19.
I attended a comprehensive resource mobilization course in Nairobi that was delivered in a very unique style of practical and workplace-oriented mode. It brought out the reasons why 99% of proposals don’t get a response – because we don’t apply the necessary techniques to captivate donors into giving us money. I was assigned a mentor by the name of Caroline whose passion and interest in my work gave me an impetus to showcase my work for her experience critique and she delivered like a champion and I intend to continue my communication with her.
And now off to deploy the skills we learnt from Bill Bruty and Caroline Makokha.
