Jonathan Okalangh

Jonathan is a seasoned reproductive health programme management and evaluation professional with 13 years of experience in leading Programme design, Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for programmes in East Africa. The various programmes have been supported by a range of development agencies including International Development Research Centre (IDRC, Canada), Stitching Rainforest Alliance (SRA), UNFPA, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, PEPFAR/Uganda (USAID, DCD, DOD and STATE), World Bank, OAK Foundation, The International Initiative for Impact Evaluations (3ie) and Democratic Governance Facility.

Jonathan’s previous history includes work for the International Centre for Research on Women as the senior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for the Africa region. Jonathan also served as Team Lead for Continuous Evaluations & Innovations on USAID’s Strategic Information Technical Support Activity in Uganda, as part of Social & Scientific Systems, a global monitoring, evaluation and learning technical assistance organisation. During his time at the Uganda Health Marketing Group (UHMG), Jonathan was the Head of Strategic Information and Innovations and study co-ordinator for the 3ie funded HIV self-testing grant.

On a global level, Jonathan developed strategic partnerships with the John Hopkins University (JHU) and Harvard School of Public Health, for the advancement of implementation of science and learning in Uganda. Jonathan is also trained in Research Ethics and Responsible Conduct of Research, coupled with an outstanding 8 years’ track record of steering programmes to success. He holds a Master of Science in Population & Reproductive Health from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, and a Postgraduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Uganda Management Institute in Kampala, Uganda.
